A Bible Reading Challenge

I think that most of us would agree that the Bible is a pretty good thing. Many of us own a Bible. Some of us own more than one copy. However, according to research conducted by LifeWay Research, most people don't read their Bibles all that often.

At Grace, we live by the statement, "Belong, Thrive, Go!" In order to Thrive, we encourage everyone to be in their Bibles on a consistent basis. Because we believe that the Bible is God's Word and we know that our faith grows through God's Word (Romans 10:17), spending time in the Scriptures is vital to thriving in our spiritual lives.

So, in the month of July, I'd like to challenge you to read the entire New Testament in 30 days. The New Testament is comprised of 260 chapters in 27 books. Some of the books are long (Acts has 28 chapters) and some are short (3 John has just 14 verses). Reading the New Testament in 30 days is completely doable, but it will take some commitment. Are you in?

Here is a chart to follow to help you. Each day contains about 8 chapters to read. Your life will forever be changed as a result. Let's go!

The great part of this chart is that it can be used at any time. You can start on the first day of the month or you can start it when you are ready. Also, don't get discouraged if you fall behind or can't keep the pace. Read the New Testament in 60 days or 90 days. Just make sure to read!

For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. - Hebrews 4:12
